TALK TO THE DADDY

Hello. Come on in. The daddy writes about current events, literature, music and, once in a while, drops something on you from back in the day to make you pause and ponder, stop and stare, and begin to wonder. Who knows? You may start to pace the floor, shake your head from side to side, then fall down on bended knees in a praying position and cry, "Lawd, have mercy! What is this world coming to?" Check yourself! But this blog is NOT about the daddy. It's about you: your boos, your fam, your hood, your country...our hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow. So let's make a pact: the daddy will put it on the track if you'll chase it down and hit him back. Together, we can definitely take it to another level. Shall we?"

Democratic Nominee for President of the United States

Warming up the historic moment, Senator Obama said:

"You chose to listen not to your doubts or your fears, but to your greatest hopes and highest aspirations. Tonight, we mark the end of one historic journey with the beginning of another...Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States."

Amen to that.

You know, I didn't know whether to cry more over Obama's speech tonight or the fact that my two sons were watching it with me.

los angelista: You're blessed to have watched the making of history with your two sons. Obama made the speech in twin cities, where I live. I couldn't make it, but some of friends, obamaholics all, kept phoning me and talking in platitudes: You know, "No blue states, no red states, only the United States." "Yes, we can!" I know it was a great historical moment, but it was just funny to see my friends-- all very educated-- talking only in phrases borrowed from Obama.

Dear MacDaddy,
I was there last night! We stood in line from 5:30-9:00 pm and got the very highest and last seats in the place.....It was worth sore feet and aching knees to be there for this historic moment!
This is a humble and a great man who will lead us in a new vision for our country....LET'S JOIN OUR PRAYERS, BY WHATEVER NAME WE CALL GOD, FOR HIS SAFETY AND THAT OF HIS FAMILY....AND MOST SPECIALLY THAT HIS SPIRIT WILL STAY STRONG, AND HIS DREAMS FOR AMERICA BE REALIZED....YES,WE CAN DO IT!!!
