TALK TO THE DADDY

Hello. Come on in. The daddy writes about current events, literature, music and, once in a while, drops something on you from back in the day to make you pause and ponder, stop and stare, and begin to wonder. Who knows? You may start to pace the floor, shake your head from side to side, then fall down on bended knees in a praying position and cry, "Lawd, have mercy! What is this world coming to?" Check yourself! But this blog is NOT about the daddy. It's about you: your boos, your fam, your hood, your country...our hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow. So let's make a pact: the daddy will put it on the track if you'll chase it down and hit him back. Together, we can definitely take it to another level. Shall we?"

You can talk to the daddy, but he can't talk to you

Listen up. Blogger CurvyGurl (http://hagarsdaughters.blogspot.com) gave the daddy the Helping Hand Award, an award started over at SOJOURNER'S PLACE (http://sojournersplace.blogspot.com/). It's given out to helpful and supportive bloggers. The daddy wanted to go to her blog to say "Thanks for the love" and to assure he would carry it forward. He couldn't. Why?

You see, the daddy has these blogs he likes to go to, some well-known like FIELD NEGRO (http://field-negro.blogspot.com/)and some not as well-known like CERTAIN SOUND (http://revvyrev.blogspot.com/), THERMOPHAEHILLBILLY (http://wwwwendolbloggercom.blogspot.com/), and EPHPHATA (http://ephphatha.blogspot.com/), to name just a few.

Here's the deal: If the daddy goes to a blog and sees "word verification" on it, he will be able to read the post, but he will not be able to comment on the post. Thus the bloggers can talk to the daddy, but he can't talk to them.

The daddy has talked to Blogger technicians and his nerdy computer geek friends but has not gotten positive results so far. He's still working on it, but he wants you some of you to know that he wants some of you know that he wants to come to your blog and comment but can't; and it may take a while before he will be able to.

Meanwhile, the daddy encourages readers to go to the top of the sidebar, sign up as a follower, as a member of the daddy's "Crew," continue to come back to daddyBstrong and talk to the daddy in the comment section. Despite the computer problems, let's keep the dialogue going. In other words...

Let's stay in touch, alright?

Yeah, we understand. I've been reading, just in a commenting funk for some reason. I'm back in full effect now though :-)!

Rev: Thanks and I'll be coming to see you at Certain Sound.

CurvyGurl: Good to hear from you. And thanks again for the love.

Solomon: My geek computer guy just left my house. When his wife phones, he jumps like Pavlos' dog (Just kidding!). But he'll be back tomorrow. Maybe I'll get things fixed then. Thanks for your understanding.

How come you can't post a comment on a word verification blog? Can you not see the words on your computer? (I shouldn't care, I don't have word verification on mine, but I'm genuinely curious.)

Judy: That's it. I can't see words on my computer. Actually, no letters show up for me to put in the box. My geek computer guy says he'll have to talk with blogger techs to work it out. He's coming back tomorrow. We'll see what happens. Thanks for your concern.

Glad to see your getting your due daddyBstrong. I turned off my word verification and see what happens. My security puts most of it [spam]into junk mail. Right now I get about two a week wanting money for one of their projects.

Mac,
Tech problems can be so frustrating.

Keep the posts coming; I love your work.
